Short on space?

Sorokin Gallery, founded by Carole Sorokin has recently moved to Westport, Connecticut. I attended a private reception unveiling a sophisticated collection of abstracts and landscapes by an exceptional group of artists including Roger Hsia, Jodi DeCrenza, John Schueler, Jennifer Williams, and Dario Campanile, in addition to pre-owned/vintage designer handbags, vintage costume jewelry, and antique furniture.

Abstract artist Jodi DeCrenza made an appearance and showcased her small abstract paintings (top photo) which are good for bathroom decor because they can handle the humidity. Jodi, has also sold her artwork in the Louvre Gift Shop. The artist is an avid yogi and offers yoga mats and wearable art from her collection.

Sorokin Gallery offers art in a variety of price points and sizes. I myself, am very low on space in my condo. Art must either be wearable or fit on my small works wall. If I don’t have space for it, and if there is no place where the art can be safely stored, I hold off on purchasing. I have had artwork framed previously only to have stored it improperly, and either the framing and/or the artwork is damaged. I have learned my lesson!

I treated myself to a vintage Chanel bag from the 1980’s and some enamel fish earrings and necklace which complement my two other fish pendants I found at the Renaissance Fair in Tuxedo, New York in 2005. I love the color red, I frequently mention in my Art Critic in 1 Minute videos, I tend to gravitate towards artwork featuring vibrant and warmer colors. According to art advisor Liz Tardif, red signifies passion, emergency, blood, etc.
