Meet Joey and the Intergalactic Beets Project

Visual artist and musician Joey Rodriguez recently hosted an audio-visual experience the Intergalactic Beats Project exhibition at The Stamford Art Association Townhouse Gallery on 39 Franklin Street in Stamford, Connecticut. The walls were covered with over 200 fictious vinyl record title prints, featuring QR codes with over 350 tracks. There was a DJ, a vintage Nintendo set with a cusomized game vistitors could play. This truly was a nostalgic arcade playground for Gen X and Millenials. Other generational cohorts enjoyed the festivities too!

Every image had a story with loveable characters including Karl the Friendly Neighborhood Ghost, pictured 2nd from bottom, who is restoring a dilapidated house, and preserving the memory of his wife who passed away. I purchased Karl’s Selfie print as a gift. Don’t forget Inky the agricultual, farming Octopus who sells what he makes and grows at the Farmers market. The prints and t-shirts were accessibly priced at $20, and Joey gave out a copy of his latest zine, along with buttons and stickers so everyone can leave with a memento from the show.
